Rev. Arun Lakra, HGN (Heralds of Good News, a Missionary society) was born on April 18^th in India. As the youngest child in his family, he has four elder brothers and two elder sisters. Although his parents are now deceased, the zeal to follow Christ and strong faith was planted in him by his devoted parents in his early childhood. He joined seminary in 2004 after his tenth grade. After twelve long years of discernment of God’s will, he was ordained as a priest on May 3, 2015. His first appointment as priest was in the Herald Bhavan, minor seminary as vice-Rector and dean of studies. In 2016, he was appointed as principal of St. Jude’s Junior College.

Fr. Arun came to Scranton on October 10, 2019, and was assigned to Our Lady of Immaculate Conception, Freeland, and Good Shepherd Parish, Drums. He was thrilled with the experience of being in the parish for the first time. On August 2, 2021, Fr. Arun was then transferred to St. Rose of Lima and Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Carbondale.  Due to immediate need, he was appointed as Parish Administrator for Ascension and St. Katharine Drexel Parishes on July 19, 2022.
